The girls earlier participated in three different regional competitions and successfully placed with gold or above ratings at the Encore regional to qualify to compete in the national finals. The convention consisted of one day of specialized masters classes followed by three days of competition.

The following girls participated: Lauren Bauman; Marie and Sarah Choate; Cheri Christy; Claire Cressman; Alyssa Hulthen; Jackie and Jeanna Rocco; Andrea, Dana and Julia Scherler; Emily and Katie Sprang; Alexa Stamler; and Whitney Yoder.

The team and their instructors/choreographers — Jessica Franklin, Emily Franklin and Claire Brown — earned two high gold awards, 10 gold awards and one high silver. They were judged on technique, performance, choreography and overall impression.
